This plaid Christmas throw is easier to make than it looks! First you crochet a loose base of horizontal stripes. Then you make chains that are woven through the loops to form the vertical stripes. Crochet it as shown in the Christmas colors for a holiday look, or change the colors as you wish! I am thinking team colors for your sports fan, school colors for your teen or favorite colors to decorate your home.
The pattern was designed by Marly Bird for Red Heart yarn and uses their special Super Saver yarn. Super Saver yarn is a favorite among crocheters as it is durable and washable. This 100% acrylic worsted weight, size 4 yarn comes in over 120 beautiful colors, so you will always find the perfect color to complete your project. And there are no-dye-lots which means all skeins of a solid color match, so it’s easy to buy another skein if you run out to continue the project.
To make the Plaid Christmas Throw you will need the following supplies:
- Red Heart Super Saver yarn or equivalent Size 4 yarn:
- 6 skeins Green,
- 4 skeins Red, and
- 3 skeins each of White, Black and light Green
- J-10 (6mm) Crochet Hook
- Yarn needle
