Designed by Caroline from Sew Can She this pattern is available for download by clicking the link below. This pattern contains the pattern templates plus written step-by-step instructions.
Plus Caroline provides a tutorial on her website HERE. Get creative and dress your gnome with fabrics from your scrap bin. She recommends using any fabrics you have on hand including fleece, flannel, or cotton. The only “Must Have” is a small amount of Faux Fur for his beard.
The body and hat take the most fabric. If you are buying fabric for your gnome, a fat quarter would be enough for each of these pieces. These fabrics would look great and are available in 1/2 yard cuts (click the photo to find them):
In addition to the fabric, to make the Christmas Gnome you will need the following supplies:
- polyester fiberfill for stuffing
- hot glue gun and glue sticks (or you can choose to hand sew)
- two 12’’ (or longer) pipe cleaners or a piece of bendable wire
- 1/2 lb of doll making pellets or other material to weight the gnome such as fish tank gravel, rice, or wheat
Where will your gnome sit this Christmas?? Show me your finished gnome, leave a comment and don’t forget to share!!
