If you collect fabric like me, chances are you have a few special panels in your collection. I am always looking for ways to highlight my panel and finally found it – the Ultimate Quilt for featuring your treasured panels!!
Quilts are such a special way to spread love. Handmade with care and designed especially for the recipient, the quilter puts her heart and soul into every quilt she makes. And with so many panels out there, there will always be one that reminds you of that special person.

I know, I know – I promised only FREE patterns but every now and then something so fabulous comes along that I must share! And this ultimate quilt pattern pops up everywhere, I just had to spotlight it! LOL – In fact the name of the pattern is SPOTLIGHT.
The Ultimate quilt was designed by Mountainpeak Creations (for which I receive no compensation) and was made to spotlight PANELS! The pattern provides instructions for a baby (38 x 56) or throw size (54 x 71) quilt.
Panels are what makes this quilt awesome and this design could be made with any panel or large sized themed fabric you don’t have the heart to cut. Change the fabric to suit the recipient and you will have a different quilt each time.
To make the Ultimate Quilt, you will need the following supplies:
- One 24″ x 42″ fabric panel or 2/3 yd of theme fabric (see below for ideas)
- 3/8 yd of fabric for inner border
- 9 fat eighths for little squares
- 3/4 yd of accent fabric on top, bottom and sides
- 1/2 yd of fabric for second border (throw only)
- 1-1/2 yd of fabric for third border (throw only)
- 1/2 yd of fabric for binding (5/8 for throw)
- 2-1/2 yd of fabric for backing (3-3/8 for throw size)
