Designed by the Hobby Lobby, the frames are built with with 2″ x 2″ boards, secured with heavy-duty screws. Full how-to’s and assembly instructions are included in the pattern download. Also included are the instructions to sew the walls, windows, and roof. They also offer decorating ideas.
To make the frames of these play tents, you will need the following supplies:
- Four 2″ x 2″ boards, each 4′ in length ( Five 4′ boards for the tepee)
- Five 2″ x 2″ boards, each 5′ in length (Four 5′ boards for the tepee)
- Eight 2″ x 2″ boards, each 3′ in length (house only)
- Ten 1 ¾” Wood Screws
Once the frame is built, let your child help you choose the fabrics for the covers. There are so many trendy prints you can coordinate, you can bet whatever he/she picks is going to look great.
To make the covers for these play tents, you will need the following fabric yardage:
- 15-1/2 yards of main fabric (7-1/2 for tepee)
- 6 yards of first contrasting fabric (5-3/4 for tepee)
- 3 yards of second contrasting fabric (4 yds for tepee)
- 1/2 yard of netting for windows
- Coordinating thread

They are so sweet. A bit of an upgrade form the chairs and broom handle tents we used to make – although they were loads of fun!
