Intermediate crocheters will love this pattern from Lion Brand Yarn. The pattern makes this gorgeous jacket in sizes Small to 4X. Originally published as a crochet along in 2013, the pattern has been re-mixed to be used with modern day yarns.
The original pattern used a combination of Unique yarn (discontinued) and Vanna’s Choice in 5 different colors to create the stripes, however, with the popularity of the new self-striping yarns, the pattern has been rewritten to use just two.
By alternating two different yarns, this cardigan can be made in several colorways. The self-striping properties of Landscapes yarn is alternated with the heathered and tweedy look of Heartland yarn to create the gorgeous texture.
The cardigan has an A-line shape that gets narrower towards the top. The decreases are positioned so that the space between the vertical lines of the post stitches gets smaller, exaggerating the flare of the sweater.
To make the colorfully modern jacket, you will need the following supplies:
- 10-23 skeins of Size 4 yarn depending on size and yarn choice. Please check the pattern to determine which yarns and combination you wish to use.
- N-13 (9mm) Crochet hook
- Yarn Needle
- One large snap fastener
