Designed by Michele Wilcox for Red Heart yarns the Luv My Bunny Blankie measures approximately 38 inches square when complete. Perfect for keeping baby cozy!
Originally designed to be made from Red Heart Baby Hugs Medium (Size 4) yarn. Nana found that the choice in color for this yarn are limited and the recommended colors found in the pattern are no longer available. Acceptable substitutions would be Red Heart With Love solids or Paintbox Simply Aran. Both of these come in over 50 luscious shades!
Although the blanket looks as though it is made for a baby girl, you can simply change the pink squares to navy and your blanket is fit for a boy! Or gray and navy. Or dark and light browns ! Want it gender neutral? Make it green and yellow. Or grey and aqua. Or ……. You decide. With so many colors to choose from you can customize the squares as you wish.
To make the Luv My Bunny Blankie you will need the following supplies:
- Approximately 500 yards each of Size 4 yarn in the three main colors (shown as pink, white and blue in the picture)
- One ball of orange for carrots.
- Small amounts of bright pink for nose, black for eyes and whiskers and green for carrot leaves.
- US H-8 (5mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle
