When I was in Costa Rica last winter, crocheted beach shorts were all the rage. Whether you want to hang out this summer or start getting ready for some winter getaways, these crocheted beach shorts should be on your list of must-haves!!
Because I love tankinis, these shorts will make the perfect cover-up for my bottom! Do you think an old Nana can pull it off??

Designed by Lorene Haythorn Eppolite of Cre8tion Crochet this pattern was originally a 4 week crochet-along back in 2016, but these shorts are still stylish today! The pattern comes in 6 sizes with two different fits available.
The shorts pictured were made with Lindy Chain yarn by Knit Picks. Lindy Chain is is a linen and cotton blended chainette yarn that is perfect for summer. The linen adds a crisp stitch definition that shows off textures while adding a lovely drape and sheen that just gets softer with every wash. Available in 20 stunning shades that range from rich hues to soft pastels.
Looking for other suitable fingering weights? Try these substitutes. If you plan to use a substitute yarn, get helpful hints from Nana on how to successfully substitute yarns in this post. I highly recommend using a cotton or linen blend to make these shorts due to their non-stretchy properties.
