This beautiful crocheted lace vest is made of a simple shape that drapes perfectly on the body.
You will love how the vest will team up with any layers – a tank for summer, a turtleneck in winter.

Designed exclusively for Berroco by Robyn Chachula this pattern is rated for intermediate crocheters. The pattern is available in 5 sizes from Small to 2X.
The pattern uses Berroco Captiva Yarn, however, this yarn has since been discontinued. Unfortunately, Captiva is an unusual yarn and we don’t know of many close matches. Captiva was an Aran weight (Size 4) yarn with a wrap around inner core made from 60% Cotton, 23% polyester and 17% acrylic.
You can successfully make this vest using a substitute. The closest I have found is PURL SOHO Lantern. It is very pricey but it is the best match.
This vest was made by LJ Moore using Mimosa from Yarn Bee. Mimosa is only a size 2 yarn. Yarn bee Hint of Silk or Cotton Et Lin may be a better choice.
DeAnnaMcCall made hers with Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable.
Personally, I think any cotton or linen blend would work great! Nana is going to try Truboo from Lion Brand because I love the feel of the bamboo. Just be sure to check and adjust your gauge if needed. If you plan to use a substitute yarn, get helpful hints from Nana on how to successfully substitute yarns in this post.
