The pattern was designed by Caron yarns and was written for the intermediate crocheter. Don’t let that scare you! The only hard part is the cluster stitches and once you practice them, they are super easy to make. And the cute little flowers are a great take-a-long project.
There are both written instructions as well as a chart included in the pattern. Your finished afghan will measure approximately 48 x 58″ [122 x 147.5 cm], excluding the fringe.
The garden flower afghan was designed using two favorite Caron brand yarns – Caron One Pound and Caron Jumbo.
Caron One Pound yarn is a machine washable and dryable worsted weight (Size 4) yarn that comes in over 30 shades and is available in an economical one pound skein. Each ball contains 742 meters / 812 yards of yarn.
Caron Jumbois also a worsted weight (Size 4) yarn with a variegated shade range that is available in an economical big ball skein. Each ball contains 544 meters / 595 yards of yarn. Different colors can also be found in theCentury Collection
Need more colors? You can use any Size 4 variegated yarn in your favorite colors to make your flowers. When substituting yarns, remember that the Caron yarn comes in extra large sized balls. To make the garden flower afghan you will need the following supplies:
- 3 balls of Caron One Pound or equivalent Size 4 yarn in your main color
- 2 balls of Caron Jumbo or equivalent Size 4 variegated yarn for the flowers
- Size U.S. H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook
