Even if you decide not to make this pillow front, this is a great pattern to have on hand. because, unlike other crocheted pillows, this pattern shows you how to make your pillow back into an envelope pillow. This makes it very easy to take the cover off for washing or to change your look.
Designed by Julia Madill for Paton yarns, your finished pillow will measure approximately 22 inches square when finished. One thing Nana has learned over the years is do not buy your pillow form until your pillow is complete to ensure a great fit!
The popcorn stitch used to create the unique design is actually quite easy and fun to crochet. It is simply made using 5 double crochets in a cluster. If you need help learning the stitch, Nana included instructions and a video in her “Learn to Crochet lesson 9“. (Scroll Down to Block 24 to follow along).
This pattern uses Paton Canadiana yarn. Paton Canadiana is a 100% acrylic worsted weight (Size 4) yarn that is ideal for everyday use because this machine washable and dryable yarn is so easy to care for. As gauge is not important, you may use any Size 4 yarn to create your pillow. This is your chance to get creative with color!! Nana is a big Paintbox Yarn fan and with over 50 shades available, this yarn would be a great choice for making your Geo-Pop pillow! You can read all about Paintbox Yarn in my review.
