When we think of socks, we think of knitting. But YES you can crochet them for yourself and your whole family!!
These crocheted socks are stitched in the round and are easier than you think to crochet.

Designed for Saprotex International, the pattern is written in five sizes – Child 2-4 years, Child 6-8 years, Ladies 5-6, Ladies 7-8 and Men. So you can make a pair for each member of your family!!
The pattern is written in UK terminology. But it is very easy to convert to US terms. This handy chart should help. You can find it in Nana’s Crochet Tips and Tricks section of her website.
The designer used Elle yarns, Socks ‘n More – Bon Voyage. This is a 4 ply fingering yarn that I have only been able to find in South Africa. You may substitute any 4 ply yarn, but be sure to check your gauge. See Nana’s post “How to Substitute Yarn” or more information on substituting yarn successfully.
My favorite substitutes include Static from Knit Picks. It is a wonderful self striping yarn in gorgeous colors. Another is Head over Heels by Stylecraft. Another self-striping yarn. And of course, Nana loves Paintbox yarns from Lovecrafts.
To make these crocheted socks, you will need the following supplies:
- 1 – 2 balls of fingering yarn in the colour of your choice
- US Size E/4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle
