Attention Canadians – A Canada Table Topper just for us!
As a fellow Canadian, I find it hard to find patterns that are written especially for Canada. This year, I found this awesome patriotic Table Topper that you can make with this free pattern
The Canada Table Topper would look fabulous on your table as you celebrate Canada Day on July 1. Easy to make using FREE templates provided in the pattern.

The Canadian flag – the Maple Leaf – is reflected in this quilted table topper or wall hanging – a lovely way to celebrate the Canadian spirit and national pride.
Written by Ann Johnson for Connecting Threads, this pattern makes a table topper approx. 30 inches square. The maple leafs are appliqued to the topper using the fusible web technique. If you need help with applique, see our blog post “Learn to Applique” on our sister site “WhatsNanaMaking.com”
To make the Canada Table Topper you will need the following supplies:
- 1/2 yard (0.5 m) of white fabric
- 1/2 yard (0.5 m) of red fabric
- 1/2 yard (0.5 m) of fabric for center circle, binding and sashing (the pattern uses a medium brown)
- 1/2 yard (0.5 m) of Canadian flag fabric (or equivalent) for side panels
- Heat N Bond fusible web
- 32 x 32 batting
- 1 yard (1 m) of backing.
- Coordinating thread
Suggestions for the side panels? Wouldn’t something red and white such as gingham, polka dots, stripes or swirls look fabulous?
