This awesome Shoji quilt was designed by AGF Studios, using the Silk Road fabric collection as inspiration. Experienced quilters will know that fabric collections don’t stay around for long and Silk Road is no longer available. But, as always, Nana found some alternatives that you can use to make this quilt just as gorgeous.
With a finished size of 82″ square it is large enough to fit a queen size bed. Want it bigger? Add a border or another row of blocks and you can even make this king-sized.
To make the Shoji quilt, you will need the following supplies:
- 3/4 yard of Black and White print fabric for the small squares
- 2-1/3 yards of red floral fabric (substitute any color here) – Includes binding.
- 1-1/2 yards of white floral fabric
- 3-1/4 yards of Black solid fabric
- 5-1/2 yards of Backing Fabric or design your own backing with these suggestions from Nana’s previous blog
- Queen-size batting
- Coordinating thread
I am leaning towards using batiks in dark brown, beige and aqua to go with my decor. What do you think??
