Big bags are back in style and crocheted versions have been adorning the runways this year. Not yet available in stores, Nana found this Alexander McQueen bag hot off the runway in the Spring 2020 show.
Alexander McQueen bags normally sell for over $2,000 but you can make your knockoff bag for about $22.00.

To make the knockoff bag, you will need to combine two different patterns.
One pattern is for a large bag and the other to add the flower accents. Both are linked below.
You will also need the following supplies:
4 x 100g balls of chunky/bulky weight yarn of your choice – $4.50 per ball. | $18.00 |
J/10 (6.0mm) crochet hook (if you don’t already have one) | 2.00 |
8 (or more) buttons to attach the flowers. | 2.00 |
TOTAL | $22.00 |
The pattern uses King Cole Big Value Chunky Yarn, however, you may substitute your favorite bulky weight yarn. Gauge is not important for this project, therefore, no swatch will be required.
Crochet the bag as per the instructions. Once you have crocheted this bag, add eight easy to make crocheted flowers. You can adjust the size of the flowers by adjusting the size of your hook.
Attach the flowers as pictured using a button in the center. You can even add some bling with some fancy buttons!
Ta Da – you have a bag as gorgeous as the ones on the runway!
