Kimberley from Fat Quarter Shop in collaboration with Art Gallery Fabrics designed the Birchen quilt as part of the AGF stitched project. The finished size of the quilt is 72 ½” x 72 ½” . You can change the size by adding borders or more blocks.
If you don’t want to make the whole quilt, try a pillow. A four square table topper would also look fabulous!

Using the above photo as a guide, to make the Birchen quilt, you will need the following supplies:
- 2 yards of white for small triangles (block 1)
- 2 yards dark teal for small triangles (block 2)
- 1 2/3 yards navy for small triangles (block 1) and binding
- 1 1/8 yards light grey for small triangles (block 2)
- 1 5/8 yards light coral
- 5/8 yard brown
- 1 1/4 yards light green for large triangle (block 2)
- 4-5/8 yards fabric for backing – If you want backing ideas, see Nana’s post “Quilt Backing for Spectacular Quilts”
- One package of 2 1/2” finished Triangles on a Roll
- Twin size batting
- Coordinating thread
