Designed by Teresa Chorzepa for Lion Brand yarns, the pattern is written in three sizes – Small, Medium/Large and 1X/2X. The self-striping yarn and the mesh stitch pattern combine to make a gorgeous unique look!
The pattern uses Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball yarn. Shawl in a Ball was created specifically for beginner shawl makers and experts alike. Beginners can create show-stopping accessories using the simplest knit or crochet stitches. The self-striping brushed acrylic, run with a 100% cotton slub, has the look and feel of silk mohair. It’s light enough for summer and the colorways are just gorgeous.
You may also use Lion Brand Shawl in a Cake. It is the same yarn wound into a convenient cake rather than a ball.
Although this yarn has been rated as a Size 4 weight, many of the reviews say it is lighter and more like a Size 3. If you plan to substitute yarns, be sure to carefully check your gauge. To make the Beach Tunic, you will need the following supplies:
- 3 balls for Size Small, 4 balls for size M/L or 5 balls for 1X/2X of Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball
- Size H-8 (5 mm) crochet hook
- Stitch markers
- Yarn needle
