Letters are monogrammed using a simple cross stitch. If you have never cross-stitched before, follow along with this youtube tutorial of the simple skill.

Cross-stitching is a simple and beautiful way to decorate any crochet project. All you need is a yarn needle and smooth, light thread that contrasts well with the main shade. Using a chart like the one below, you decide where you want to place the pattern and start stitching! Each dark square on the chart is a cross stitch, and the white squares are the original project background single crochets. The simple “X” pattern of the thread makes ornate lettering a breeze, and all you have to do is follow along the chart, stitch by stitch, until your monogram is complete!

The pattern includes monogram for all 26 letters.

To make the monogrammed Christmas stockings you will need the following supplies:

    1. Beverly,
This is not my pattern but I took a look at the instructions. Once you finish crocheting the heel of the stocking, you need to once again join the main color to finish the foot/toe of the stocking. Once you finish the heel, you are going to attach the yarn to the “leg” where the heel joins the stocking. Crochet all along the “leg” 23 stitches, up the side (rows) of the heel for 7 stitches, across the top of the heel – 15 stitched, then down the other side of the heel for 7 stitches and join in the beginning stitch.

Hope this helps. Let me know how the stocking works for you.
