Designed by Cassie Ward for the more advanced crocheter, this pattern from LoveCrafts uses Nana’s favorite yarn – Paintbox!! For those that haven’t used Paintbox yarn before, please read my review on my sister site WhatsNanaMaking.com.
This dress is made using Paintbox Cotton 4 ply. Paintbox Yarns Cotton 4ply is as smooth as butter, and super soft, perfect for any cotton knit or crochet project and super hardy too! Great for shawls, fine crochet tops, and amigurumi, too. This yarn comes in 24 gorgeous colors.
The pattern is written for Sizes Small to XL. And what’s great about this pattern is that if you want a longer length dress simply add extra rows to the bottom of the skirt section. Remember though that working further rows will require more yarn.
The granny squares consist of 5 rounds. Because the 3rd round in each motif is a different color, this is a great way to use up your scraps. Just be sure to purchase at least one ball of your outer color (Round 4 and 5 shown as blue in the photos) one ball for Round 1 (shown as yellow in the photos) and one ball for Round 3 (orange in the photos).
To make the Granny Square Tile Dress you will need the following supplies:
- 8 to 10 50g balls of Paintbox Yarns Cotton 4 Ply in main color
- 7-8 balls of assorted colors to make your granny squares (see note above).
- 3.5mm (UK 9 – US E/4) crochet hook
