Beautiful colors and a light year-round yarn weight are combined for a poncho made for a fiesta. The yarns are so gorgeous it’s hard to decide which color to crochet with first.
This summery poncho would like fabulous draped over your favorite sundress or tank. Wear it to that summer festival, on the patio or farmer’s market! And of course – to the fiesta!!
Designed by Lisa Gentry for Red Heart Yarns, the pattern comes in three sizes; small/medium (S/M), large/extra large (L/XL) and 2X/3X. It is recommended for intermediate crocheters who have worked with a combination of single crochet, double crochet and shell stitches.
The designer recommends using Red Heart It’s a Wrap Rainbow yarn. This yarn is a super soft and drapey acrylic and cotton blend which is available in 8 different colors. The shawl pictured was made using “Fiesta”. These colors make a gorgeous fabric you will want to wear all year round.
To make the Fiesta Poncho you will need the following supplies:
- I ball (2 balls for size L/XL and 2X/3X) of RED HEART It’s A Wrap Rainbow yarn or equivalent Size 2 yarns.
- Size G/6 (4mm) Crochet Hook
- Yarn needle
I hope you enjoy making your Fiesta Poncho. I think I will add some fringes to mine. What do you think? I would love you to tell me about yours in the comments below. And don’t forget to share!!
