Designed by Michele Wilcox for Red Heart Yarns, this FREE pattern makes a Snowman Basket that is easy to crochet and measures a very large 16″ [40.5 cm] tall and 42″ [106.5 cm] circumference when complete. The basket is worked in continuous rounds (spiral), from the base upwards using 4 strands of yarn held together. The scarf, nose, and eyes are worked separately and sewn to the basket. The mouth is embroidered onto basket.
The original pattern used Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, however, the pattern has been updated to use Red Heart With Love yarn. Both yarns are Size 4 weight and can be easily substituted for one another.

To make the Crocheted Snowman Basket, you will need the following supplies:
- 4 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver or equivalent Size 4 yarn in white
- 3 skeins of grey
- 2 skeins of red
- small amount of black yarn for facial features
- US P-16 (11.5 mm) crochet hook for basket
- US J-10 (6 mm) crochet hook for scarf and facial features
- Yarn needle
- Stitch marker
